Brandt Hamby is a co-founder and Managing Director of Six Pillars Partners. Brandt serves on the SPP investment committee and is responsible for the management of the firm along with origination, due diligence, value-creation, and fundraising.
Prior to Six Pillars, Brandt was a startup co-founder, public company executive, and private equity investor. Brandt and his partners founded StraightSource, a pioneer in Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) before selling the Company to Kenexa (NYSE: KNXA) in 2007. Brandt served as an Executive at Kenexa prior to founding Six Pillars. Currently, Brandt serves on the Board of Directors of Cadient Talent, Tax Advisors Group, The Liberty Group, and the Sigma Nu Alumni Association. Brandt is a graduate of The University of North Texas holding a BA in Industrial Psychology.
Brandt’s wife is still putting up with him after 25 years. They have three children, two boys, and one girl. They adopted their oldest son from St. Petersburg, Russia, and continue to be involved in the international adoption community. Even though his drives are flying a bit shorter these days, Brandt is an avid golfer. He also enjoys travel, food, and time on the lake.
Archie Jones is a Managing Director of Six Pillars Partners and a Professor at Harvard Business School, where he teaches Entrepreneurial Management and Finance to MBA students. Archie serves on the SPP investment committee and is responsible for the management of the firm along with origination, diligence, value-creation, and fundraising.
Prior to Six Pillars Partners, Archie held executive positions at private equity, public and private companies including IBM (NYSE: IBM), Kenexa (NYSE: KNXA), NOWaccount Network Corporation, and Parthenon Capital. In addition, Archie serves on the Board of Directors of Fleetcor (NYSE: FLT) and Project Evident. Archie is a Certified Public Accountant, is a graduate of Morehouse College, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Archie has three boys that keep him busy (and devoid of food). In his spare time, you’ll find him spending time with family, working with non-profits, or doing all things outdoors with a bent toward golf, hunting, or fishing.
Carl Hefton is a co-founder and Managing Director of Six Pillars Partners. Carl is responsible for firm operations, diligence, and value-creation.
Carl began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co before joining Resource Services Inc. (RSI) as CFO. Carl later became CEO of Viscern which was the holding company of RSI and its sister company, Ketchum. In 2006 Viscern was sold to a family office. Following the sale of Viscern and prior to joining Six Pillars, Carl was a founding partner of Entrust, a Texas investment bank focused on lower middle-market businesses. Carl is on the board of Tax Advisors Group (Chairman) and Greater Europe Missions. Carl holds a BBA in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Texas.
Carl and his wife of 47 years have three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law, and most importantly, ten adorable grandchildren! The Hefton’s have been members of The Heights Baptist Church since 1975. Both are very involved in numerous leadership roles with their church and are active volunteers within their community. Because he is a glutton for punishment, Carl has completed six marathons including the New York City Marathon. In his free time these days, Carl enjoys non-profit leadership, golf, and travel. Most often, he will be found as a cheerleader at his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Teddy Saltzstein is a Managing Director at Six Pillars Partners. Teddy is responsible for origination, firm marketing, diligence, execution, and value-creation.
Teddy began his career with Deloitte in valuations and consulting before transitioning to private equity. He spent 4 years with Rosewood Private Investments (private equity arm of the Hunt family), focused on origination, execution, financial modeling, and diligence. While at Rosewood, Teddy was a board observer for Novaria Group, a buy-and-build in the Aerospace and Defense sector. He was heavily involved in a number of Novaria acquisitions, leading workstreams for debt financing, modeling, diligence, and value creation. With an entrepreneurial itch, Teddy left Rosewood for several stints as a tech/startup CEO, strategy consultant, and private equity investor before landing at Six Pillars. Teddy holds a BBA and MPA (Masters, Professional Accounting) from the University of Texas at Austin, and currently holds a seat on the Board of Directors for The Liberty Group.
Teddy and his wife have a newborn daughter, Ella, that keeps them busy (and tired!). He enjoys golf, travel, and time with friends and family; and can sometimes be found on a court honing his mad Pickleball skills.
Dev Nangrani is a Senior Associate at Six Pillars Partners. Dev is responsible for evaluation, research, diligence, value creation, and modeling.
Prior to joining Six Pillars, Dev spent over 3 years with CSL Capital Management, an energy services private equity firm with over $1bn in assets under management. While with CSL, Dev held board seats at multiple portfolio companies and was involved in underwriting multiple greenfield investments. Dev began his career with Evercore Partners as an Analyst in the Energy group. He holds a bachelors in economics from Rice University where he was also a member of the men’s rugby team.
Dev was born in India and raised in Dallas. His favorite form of self-torture is being a die-hard Cowboys fan. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as trying out new restaurants and traveling. When he is not fine-tuning his craft as an up-and-coming golfer he can be found on long walks on the Katy Trail in Dallas with his Great Pyrenees mix Cash.
