Carl Hefton

Co-founder & Advisor

Carl Hefton serves as a co-founder and Advisor and brings more than 40 years of experience leading teams and companies to the firm.  He is responsible for portfolio company value creation and general firm advisory.

Carl began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co before joining Resource Services Inc. (RSI) as CFO.  Carl later became CEO of Viscern which was the holding company of RSI and its sister company, Ketchum. In 2006 Viscern was sold to a family office. Following the sale of Viscern and prior to joining Six Pillars, Carl was a founding partner of Entrust, a Texas investment bank focused on lower middle-market businesses.  Carl is on the board of Tax Advisors Group (Chairman) and Greater Europe Missions.  Carl holds a BBA in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Texas. 

Carl and his wife of 47 years have three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law, and most importantly, ten adorable grandchildren! The Hefton’s have been members of The Heights Baptist Church since 1975. Both are very involved in numerous leadership roles with their church and are active volunteers within their community. Because he is a glutton for punishment, Carl has completed six marathons including the New York City Marathon.  In his free time these days, Carl enjoys non-profit leadership, golf, and travel.  Most often, he will be found as a cheerleader at his grandchildren’s sporting events.
